The world’s first passenger-carrying eVTOL unmanned aircraft to receive all three airworthiness certificates (TC, PC, and AC).
The EH216-S is a flagship passenger-carrying pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing (“eVTOL”) aircraft developed by EHang, responding to the application needs of short- to medium-distance  low-altitude air mobility in urban areas. It is widely applicable in scenarios such as passenger transportation, aerial sightseeing, logistics, and medical emergency. This product adheres to the core design concepts of pilotless flight, full backup safety design, and intelligent command-and-control center’s centralized management. It does not require a pilot, and passengers only need to select a flight destination to enjoy the journey and arrive directly at the destination. The EH216-S has obtained the world’s first passenger-carrying pilotless eVTOL aircraft type certificate (“TC”), production certificate (“PC”), and standard airworthiness certificate (“AC”) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (“CAAC”).
The world’s first commercially operable pilotless human-carrying aircraft
In 2025, EHang’s EH216-S eVTOL operators were granted the first batch of Air Operator Certificates (“OC”) for civil pilotless human-carrying aircraft by the Civil Aviation Administration of China ("CAAC"). This achievement marks a significant step toward the commercialization and mass adoption of low-altitude human-carrying flight services. EHang is collaborating with more partners to gradually expand and increase commercial operation sites. They are establishing additional low-altitude air mobility operation centers in Guangzhou, Hefei, and other regions across China. This initiative supports local operators in obtaining air operator certificates for civil pilotless human-carrying aircraft.
