EHang Participates in State Visit of King Felipe VI of Spain to China, Strengthening Sino-Spanish Advanced Air Mobility Cooperation



From November 10 to 13, 2025, King Felipe VI of Spain paid a state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. President Xi met with King Felipe VI and witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation agreements across various sectors, jointly exploring the potential of emerging areas of collaboration. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union, as well as the 20th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain. The King’s first visit to China carries significant importance for deepening cooperation between China and Spain in trade, industry, technology, and green development.

 

As a global leader in advanced air mobility (AAM) and low-altitude economy, EHang Holdings Limited (EHang) was invited to participate in the series of events during the King’s visit, contributing to the promotion and deepening of cooperation in intelligent manufacturing and advanced air mobility between the two countries.

On November 13, King Felipe VI attended the third meeting of the China-Spain Business Advisory Council alongside Zhang Guoqing, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, and delivered a speech. EHang Founder, Chairman, and CEO Huazhi Hu was invited to participate with representatives from 30 council member organizations from both countries, engaging in thematic discussions on global corporate cooperation, energy transition, and advanced manufacturing. The meeting was also attended by Carlos Quelpo, Minister of Economy, Trade, and Business of Spain, and senior officials from the Chinese government.

In his remarks, King Felipe VI stated: “Spain is committed to maintaining close exchanges with China, continuing to deepen practical cooperation in all fields, and welcoming more Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Spain, contributing to greater bilateral achievements.”

 

Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing stated: “China values its traditional friendship with Spain and is willing to work with Spain to build a comprehensive strategic partnership that is more strategically stable, developmentally dynamic, and internationally influential. Under the strategic guidance of our heads of state, both sides should jointly expand mutually beneficial cooperation, explore potential in technological innovation, and promote China-Spain economic and trade cooperation to new heights.”

On November 11, King Felipe VI attended the China-Spain Business Forum. EHang Chief Operating Officer for Europe and Latin America, Victoria Jing Xiang, was invited to participate.

 

In his speech, King Felipe VI expressed: “I hope that enterprises from both countries will deepen cooperation, work hand in hand, implement more joint projects, continuously expand new fields and areas of collaboration, create value together in the Spanish and EU markets, and develop more third-party market collaborations, building a sustainable and resilient future together.”

Victoria Jing Xiang said: “EHang leverages Spain’s strategic international position, stable and secure investment environment, and industrial advantages to actively expand in Europe, Latin America, and Africa. EHang has established extensive international strategic partnerships in Spain and Europe, including with the Spanish National Police, ENAIRE, the cities of Seville and Zaragoza, airport management group AENA, and telecom group TELEFONICA. EHang has completed Europe’s first Urban Air Mobility Center, becoming a global benchmark integrating autonomous eVTOLs with airport infrastructure and air traffic management systems, and has established aircraft exhibition centers in Madrid and Zaragoza. In addition, EHang participates in multiple projects with the Spanish Government and the European Commission, contributing to the development of European industry standards. The EH216-S has flown in multiple cities across Spain and Europe, continuously advancing advanced air mobility. Participation in this forum will further promote cooperation between EHang and local enterprises in low-altitude economy and smart city management, while exploring emerging third-party markets in Latin America through extensive Sino-Spanish collaboration.”

 

Previously, King Felipe VI had visited EHang’s EH216-S exhibition booth at multiple international events, personally interacting with the aircraft.

At the 2025 FITUR International Tourism Exhibition in Spain, King Felipe VI visited EHang’s booth and spoke with Victoria Jing Xiang in detail about the technical advantages of the EH216-S autonomous passenger aircraft and its applications in tourism, expressing appreciation for EHang’s innovative technology promoting the commercial application of advanced air mobility.

At the 2021 World Air Traffic Management Congress, King Felipe VI also visited the EH216-S, learning about EHang’s safe, intelligent, and environmentally friendly air mobility solutions and inquiring about EHang’s cooperation with the Spanish National Police.
