On September 9, the FIA SIS welcome event organised by Fundación RACE was held at Circuito de Madrid Jarama–RACE. As guests looked on, EHang’s EH216-S pilotless passenger-carrying electric vertical take-off and landing (“eVTOL”) aircraft rose above this iconic circuit steeped in Spanish motor sport history and flew over Jarama. Racetrack, road and sky were brought together in a single frame: pilotless flight, electrification and Advanced Air Mobility entered this motor sport landmark in a powerful and symbolic moment, taking the traditional “race-to-road” innovation logic into the sky and turning the future of three-dimensional mobility from a concept into a real-world flight before the audience.

As night fell, the event reached a second spectacular climax — 3000 EHang GD4.0 formation drones rose into the air in synchrony, instantly transforming the Madrid night sky into a vast digital canvas. The massive aerial fleet shifted through precision formations to depict the FIA, motor racing, Spain, Puerta del Sol, the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, and the Madrid skyline, bringing technology, urban culture and motor sport together in the night sky. In its official release, RACE described the large-scale drone light show as an “unprecedented” event in Europe, highlighting EHang’s capabilities in large-scale drone fleet orchestration, precision formation flight, centralised command and intelligent coordination.

On September 10, the FIA SIS main forum was held at Madrid’s Palacio Municipal de Congresos under the theme “From Race to Road: Accelerating the Future of Mobility.” Victoria Xiang, President of EHang Europe & Latin America, represented EHang on the high-level panel “The Third Dimension of Mobility: Building the Urban Air Ecosystem.” Moderated by Jorge F. Delgado, CEO of RACE and President of FIA Region I, the discussion brought together representatives from Madrid City Council, Telefónica and ENAIRE to examine the regulatory, airspace-management, connectivity, infrastructure, operational and urban-governance requirements for scaling Advanced Air Mobility.
